Shenandoah Community Health Welcomes New Provider

Shenandoah Community Health is pleased to welcome Alexandrina Gomes, Psy.D., Clinical Psychologist, to our team. She will join SCH Behavioral Health on 99 Tavern Road in Martinsburg.

Dr. Gomes received her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) from Wright State University, an APA Accredited Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program and a MA in Social Work from the University of Chicago. In addition to her experience as a generalist clinician, she has experience in research, teaching, program evaluation and consultation.  She has also published her research work and presented at conferences. Her clinical areas of interest include primary care behavioral health, health psychology, promotion of wellness and preventive care, life transition processes, mood and anxiety disorders, acculturation and enculturation distress, delivery of culturally adapted evidence-based interventions and work with culturally diverse populations.

Dr. Gomes is a member of several professional organizations including American Psychological Association, Collaborative Family Healthcare Association, and West Virginia Psychological Association.

Dr. Gomes was born and raised in Portugal and visits at least once a year (pre –Covid) to see family and friends.  Some of her favorite leisure activities include hiking, gardening, traveling, reading and ballroom dancing.
